Shantui Bulldozers: A Powerful Force in Wildfire Suppression
According to official data from Bulgaria’s Ministry of Environment and Water and the European Union, Bulgaria ranks first in the EU for total burned land area and is among the countries most severely affected by wildfires in Europe during the summer of 2025. The nation also remains one of the highest wildfire-risk regions on the continent.

Over the past two years, nearly 38,000 hectares of Bulgarian forest have been scorched by wildfires, with damages estimated at more than €2.5 million. By this measure, Bulgaria has outpaced major fire-prone countries such as Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, and Greece. Compared to 2024, the number of incidents in 2025 has surged: in July alone, approximately 3,500 fires were recorded, destroying hundreds of thousands of decares, including more than 30,000 decares of forest in the Sakar mountains and other upland regions. These blazes have threatened not only nature but also settlements and critical infrastructure. The situation has been further aggravated by soaring temperatures, drought, and strong winds driven by climate change. |

In such critical conditions, investing in specialized heavy equipment becomes a decisive factor in combating the spread of fires. Among the key assets in wildfire suppression, Shantui bulldozers have proven to be an indispensable tool for protecting human life, infrastructure, and the natural environment in what has become an exceptionally challenging climate year.
Against this backdrop of large-scale disasters, Shantui bulldozers have emerged as a vital asset in Bulgaria’s firefighting arsenal. Their ability to carve firebreaks, clear burning material, and create containment lines allows ground crews to halt advancing flames and minimize destruction.
Engineered with hydrostatic transmission, high-powered engines, and large-capacity blades, Shantui bulldozers deliver consistent performance for hours under extreme fire conditions. Their robust design ensures safe access to rugged, hazardous terrain, enabling firefighting teams to reach otherwise inaccessible zones.
These machines are indispensable not only in suppressing major fire fronts but also in preventive measures across high-risk areas. Bulldozers can construct buffer zones, remove dense vegetation, and establish protective belts around towns and vital infrastructure, dramatically reducing the spread of flames.
Thanks to their proven reliability and advanced technology, Shantui bulldozers are positioned to play a central role in addressing the rising frequency and intensity of wildfires linked to climate change. Investment in modern equipment—along with operator training—significantly boosts response speed and efficiency, making all the difference in safeguarding lives, landscapes, and infrastructure.
